I heard a deep voice say Hello Claire.
A voice! In my head! That’s it! I ran out of my room as quickly as my tingling legs would carry me. All the way down the steps and into the first floor bathroom. Closing the door and locking it, I put my back against it and just stood there gasping for air. There just doesn’t seem to be enough in this little bathroom! After about five or six minutes of deep breaths I calmed down enough to think. “What was that?” I asked myself, not expecting an answer by any means.
I am here to be of service to you Claire. It came again in a smooth tone.
Quickly scanning the bathroom, I spin in a circle looking, “Who… Wh… What are you?!”
You needn’t speak out loud for me to hear you Claire.
I blink my eyes several times in an attempt to wake up. Ok, I still must be sleeping. That’s it, I'm dreaming. Pinching my arms, and slapping my cheeks. Soon my real alarm clock is going to go off and wake me from this craziness.
You are not crazy, I am real. And, I am here for you Claire.
When Kelly English flies back to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to close out her father’s estate, the last thing on her mind is falling in love. Again. Kelly is twenty-eight and engaged to an older man who is quite wealthy. She’s happy, and only desires to make the trip back brief, sell her deceased father’s place, and return to her stable life in Los Angeles. However, while taking care of business in Oshkosh, Kelly meets a fishing guide, launching her on an emotional journey she never could have predicted or foreseen. BARBARY POINT is Kelly’s story of what happened that one magical week in May on the shores of Lake Winnebago when the ducklings hatch and the walleye run.
This is the tale chronicling the rise and run of Gelon, wisest of the three enlightened trees. Beginning with the oaths of Raeben and Arbtuae, the story describes the creation of the planet Areth; the entrapment of banished Princess Mytya; and the forging of the mighty sword Solareth. It continues with the fall of the House of Cyren to the blackheart curse and the unyielding curiosity of a droid infected with the virus Feline Nine. It tells how one of the Clan Destined forfeited all he was, in a heartbeat, for a chance to save a world... even if he had to crawl as a man
"Matilda Lanai, she of the sickening fall and the miraculous, silt-spitting,
quaking resurrection. It might be a sign at that. The Island girl wasn’t stupid.
She knew how to work. And she had it inside her to be ruthless. Block had seen
it plain as day."
SNIPPET:
The doors opened just as Balan approached them, and the devil lord walked
through to stand in the middle of a large open area, turning and beckoning to
the party. Tilda glanced at Zeb, who met her eyes.
“If this goes horribly wrong, will you do me a favor?” he whispered.
“What?”
“Shoot me first. Plumb in the head.”
A single bark of laughter that sounded slightly hysterical snuck out of Tilda’s
mouth before she pressed her lips together tightly.

Rick hung up the phone and lay back on the sofa. Quietly, he drifted off only to wake a half an hour later—Mountain View was watching him.
He sat up and began to watch what was left of it. Sasha Stone’s character was busy talking animatedly to another woman.
Rick suddenly found himself intrigued, especially with this other character.
Sasha was still Sasha but this other woman was something else with her streaked, shoulder-length hair, smooth mocha skin, killer body and exotic good looks.
Since Rick had lost Jade, he hadn’t been okay. He was the type of man who despised being without a female companion and although he had not been in love with her, she provided him with emotional stability. Unfortunately, there was no way he could get her back.
Bijoux—on the other hand—was a firecracker. She was a wild card who made him feel alive as a person. He would like nothing better than to have her back in his bed again.
Suddenly, he had come up with a foolproof scheme to make Bijoux just as jealous as she’d made him. In the process, he would be able to worm his way back into her life.
Bob Weiderley scooted to the center of the room, leaning on his three-footed cane. He reached out to accept the dollar bill from Sue Barber with a tentative smile.
“I see that Bob is all full of himself,” said Opal under her breath. “Just look at that. You’d think he’d just won the Olympics instead of a Bingo prize.”
“Hazel’s basil!” said Essie with such force that her lower dentures almost came loose. “Opal, if my memory serves me . . .”
“And it hardly ever does,” opined Opal, giving Essie what Essie called her pretentious glare.
“It doesn’t matter,” said Essie. “The point is that Bob is a dear and no one deserves to win Bingo more than he does.”
“Absolutely,” agreed Marjorie. “I’m so happy for him!” She shook her shoulders with enthusiasm and pulled down her sweater
“You’re both ridiculous,” whispered Opal with disdain to the women. Then she leaned back in her chair and glanced back at the ceremony taking place in the center of the room. Bob Weiderley was still accepting the accolades from his friends. All of a sudden, as the women at Essie’s table looked on from a distance, Bob Weiderley slumped to the floor.
